Anonymous people are often surprised when a mother and daughter

Often thought of as sisters, take to social media to explain their 23-year age difference.

Both Jolene Diaz, 43, and Melanie Parks, 19, hail from Northern California and have strong, enviable friendships. However, spending so much time together can be confusing.

I’ve always had a healthy, active lifestyle, she continued. I get a lot of rest, rarely consume alcohol, and maintain a well-balanced diet.

 

The young mother, whose skincare regimen is the focus of her beauty routine, also thinks that getting started around the age of 12 was crucial to maintaining the appearance of her skin.

We are very close, elementary school teacher Joleen stated. We go on several trips together, shop, and work out. And on occasion, just chat while lying on the couch.

 

Teenager Meilani doesn’t take offense when people think her mother is her sister because she and her mother are so close.

 

I don’t think she minds, Joleen continued. She frequently overheard people tell me they believed my mother to be my sister when she was growing up.

 

Since I was still quite young when I gave birth to her, it’s not completely improbable that we are related.

 

I wash my face every morning and before I go to bed, she declared, fervently caring for her skin.

 

‘Around the age of 12 or 13, I started taking care of my skin. I used to sneakily utilize Mary Kay skin care items that my mum used to buy.

Sun protection is obviously important when living in California. Even on overcast or wet days, I always wear sunscreen. Additionally, I apply vitamin C serum both day and night.

 

Even on days when I don’t look my best, having healthy skin makes me feel confident.

 

The young mother now demands that her daughter adhere to the same strict regimen in order to preserve her flawless skin.

 

Yes, I do, she replied. Around age 12, I had her begin.

 

Joleen, though, also thinks that maintaining a youthful glow requires a laid-back outlook.

 

I’m fairly pragmatist, so I try not to dwell on the past or project fears into the future, she added.

 

Joleen and her boyfriend peacefully ended their relationship 13 years ago, but the family is still friendly and takes regular family vacations.

 

I lead a rather basic life, and I’m happy with what I have, the mother continued.

 

Joleen may look young, but she has never been one to accompany her daughter to clubs or parties, and she doesn’t plan to in the future either.

Meilani and I have never gone out to a club or a party together, Joleen claimed. We won’t be doing that anytime soon, in my opinion.

 

I’ve done both plenty of times, but these days I’d prefer remain in with a nice cup of hot tea and a good movie.

 

Social media users have been quick to express their astonishment after learning that Joleen and Meilani are mother and daughter, with others expressing shock at the truth of the relationship.

 

A user said, “Wow!! You remain extremely attractive! Haha, you’re a supermom.

 

Another person inquired, “Are you truly a mom?”

 

Who had who at this point, a different person said.

 

Others have noted that the two appear to be twins because of how similar they are, with one questioning, “Are you twins?”
